Sneaky Salamander is pretending that this cut down log is her horse. I’m saying, “yee-haw!”

Speedy Snow Owl is picking up water to put in a container from the little stream with the bridge. The challenge was to fill up our jar with water. We used leaves, ferns, hands, and sticks. Some students discovered that if they stood on a rock and rocked back and forth, it could splash a lot of water into the container, like a forest faucet.

Here is Happy Hare, using a leaf to put water into the container.

Cheeky Chipmunk used a hollow stick to put water into the container.

We measured how long things were with rulers and we recorded them on a chart. Brainy Black Bear worked with Speedy Snow Owl and Happy Hare to measure a tree cookie that was 6 inches long.

After we finished stations we came back to the fire-pit and Voracious Vole, Cheeky Chipmunk and Brave Barred Owl wanted to measure the container of stream water to compare how much each group collected.

Ms Thomas was pouring the hot cocoa. She got help from Dashing Deer and Cheeky Chipmunk. We also baked a snack today. Musical Moose and Forest Frog shook the balls of dough in a bag of cinnamon and sugar , then put them in the dutch oven, then they poured butter over the top. This Monkey Bread baked in the fire pit for about an hour. It tasted good!!!!

Here we were poking the water out of the tarp, because we were trying to get ready for winter. So that we will have dry ground. If the water stays on the tarp it will freeze and might make holes in the plastic.

We felt sooooooooo lucky that it didn’t rain on us today. At lunch we talked about what we wish it would rain if it didn’t rain water. It was a fun conversation!
